Calm before the Storm

This radiant acrylic painting exhibits the transparency of crystal clear water over patterns of sand ripples at a tropical island paradise called Aitutaki in the Cook Islands. But if you look closely, a looming storm on the horizon is threatening the tranquility with a developing breeze. Ironically this was also the location of the artist’s honeymoon, a marriage with a quiet start on the beach and a turbulent ending.
