Spending the happiest day on Pickersgill sand cay, Doretta captured this tranquil ocean scene during a recent boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef. This vibrant acrylic painting displays a stark lighthouse and hint of reflection, with crystal clear water over patterns of sand ripples at the foreground, emphasizing beautiful transparency and refraction of light. The red roof stems from a different location; the Low Isles around 35 nautical miles south but offered an attractive colour contrast.
