Doretta was inspired by this compelling image of a corroding steel boat hull, symbolizing that every life is mortal and nothing is forever. This acrylic painting was created in honour of a well-known fisherman and crocodile hunter, found dead on his boat by the artist and her partner during their boat trip to Cape York, at Princess Charlotte Bay. This is the third painting completed on the artist’s boat anchored at the Doughboy River in the Gulf of Carpentaria in Australia.
