Rising Tide

Doretta selected this attractive image because every mariner avoids getting their boat stranded after high tide. This means having to wait for the next rising tide, until the boat becomes free again. This acrylic painting features the beauty and grace of a timber boat’s hull with parallel lines and playful shadowing, lending a captivating three-dimensional effect. This was the first acrylic painting completed on the artist’s boat anchored at Hope Island in Far North Queensland, Australia.
